Oh no, I'm not finished with it yet.
There's much more to see from the Ladies Home Journal of 1920.
In this issue there were many many ads pertaining to clothing. What to buy, what to wear, what machine to wash it in and what soap to use in said machines.
I must admit, that when I first saw the following ad, I had a powerful desire to own this garment.
I think it's something about her carefree pose and the simplicity of the thing...

I mean, what's not to like?
Here's another undie ad that was on the very first page of the magazine...

A happy family, wearing the proper underthings.
And I guess there's no better way to sell your product than to show a pretty girl in her undies. [Some things never change.]

There was an ad in this magazine that you don't often run into now a days...
How about the latest hits in...
sheet music.

Big business back then, when one provided one's own musical interludes.
Then I ran across a familiar name in the industry of floor covering...

Did you know [according to the ad] ..... that...
"Real linoleum such as Armstrong's is made of wood flour, powdered cork, and oxidized linseed oil, pressed on burlap. Genuine linoleum always has a burlap back, is flexible, and not easy to tear."
Who knew?
I suppose the cheap stuff was made of tar paper or something. One wonders...
Anyway, what pattern would you choose?
