And A Quilt to Keep Him Warm
Tue May 17 2011

It is 52 degrees here right now. It's cloudy and windy and it rained last night.

I'm just so happy with the cool weather, I hate to complain. So I won't. If we never see 90 degrees this summer, I won't be broken hearted. I'll plant potatoes if the tomatoes don't want to live under these conditions. I'm okay with it. I prefer cool weather.

It's just odd.

That's all I'm saying.

***

Ace came with his own crate [which he loves a little too much IMHO]. But it has been his hiding place I imagine. We are trying to keep him engaged with the rest of us as much as possible. Sometimes drawing a dog out is harder than correcting a rowdy one.

He also came with a handmade quilt from a family member.

He's quite fond of it.

Here he is in his favorite spot in the house when the crate is unavailable.

If he had a thumb, I wonder if he would be sucking it…

It's his security blanket and he needs it always. It is the one thing that doesn't change.
I'm sure he would suck his thumb if he had one.
    What a cutie.

Its a scary world out there. I'd keep my blanky handy too. :)

That's exactly how I feel. They should have a safe place, but not be afraid to come out. Right now I am proving to Acey that is is safe inside AND outside his crate.

I was just in the kitchen doing dishes and he ventured in there on his own to see what I was doing. I promptly gave him a dog treat for his willingness to engage.

One step at a time. ;-)

Consider it a done deal, then. I'm planning on doing a rod's worth more of them (should come out to 6-8 beads) this afternoon. I'll match up the results and give you a set that "goes together" as best as possible. I'll anneal them overnight, and with luck they'll go out Thursday or Friday.
