I am basking in the glow of domestic accomplishments of epic proportions.
(Oh boy, I see the hyperbole meter is pegged again... tink tink, yep, it’s stuck on stupid.)
You cannot fluster me Mr. Snarky Pants. I’m the domestic queen today.
Yesterday there must have been some kind of biorhythmic perfect storm in my world because I went to town on the dirt and grime around here.
It all started with an inexplicable desire to be able to see out. I needed a place to sit and get a good look outside. Our house only has two windows that are low enough to really do that, so I dismantled the whole living room and half the computer room to put my chair by one of those windows.
I started at 9 in the morning and doggedly worked until around 2:30. I took a break and then worked another two hours. It was like the good old days.
I vacuumed corners and washed cushion covers and dusted blinds and oiled furniture and moved 90% of the furniture to new places. I found a spot for the love seat and may just keep it now that it has a new home. In the late afternoon when the sun was off that side of the house, I cleaned the patio and .... brace yourself... I washed the windows inside and out on the whole east side of the house.
I used this tool:

Now, I gotta tell you. I hate washing windows. Not because I’m lazy, which I kind of am, but not THAT lazy, but because I usually get such disappointing results. I’ve tried all kinds of different ways to wash windows and none of them really work that great for me. So, I do all the work and still end up with crappy looking windows.
Until yesterday.
I don’t know what they put on those little pads that come with this kit, but all you do is wet the window, wet the pad, scrub the window, [it gets soapy], then rinse it off with the hose and walk away....
Yes, you walk away.
The water sheets off and voila, you have a clean window.
I was flabbergasted.
I wish I could use them INSIDE the house!
Here’s my chair in its new place. The sun was still beating on that side of the house, so the blinds are down.

So today I am finishing up a few things to round out yesterday’s blitz. Mopped my kitchen floor and cleaned a bathroom and did laundry. AND when I looked around for something else to do, my eyes landed on two filthy beasts.
They both got baths.
I’ve brushed enough hair off of Sunny to stuff a mattress with. It defies the laws of physics how much hair you can take off of her and not have her be naked at the end of it.
But the dog hair that I cleaned up yesterday scared me so bad, I had to do something. I comforted my frazzled self while I was wet dog wrestling by chanting over and over, “I’m saving myself 90 dollars.... I’m saving myself 90 dollars.... I’m saving myself 90 dollars.” That’s what it would cost to take them both to the groomers.
We muddled through on our own, and now they are in the back yard drying off.
I guess I must be feeling my oats after all that inactivity with my ankle.
And to round out my happiness, out in the garden there’s a tomato turning orange.
Life is good.
And I'm getting a real good look at it through my clean windows.

Sniff.
I'm just so proud….
Sniff.
Bwwaahaahhaa…
(Good grief, it's just a little housecleaning. What's the big deal? Sheesh,)
