Is It Just Me, Or Are There a Lot Of Birds in Here?
Mon Nov 28 2011

Foggy mornings are the order of the day lately. That’s fine by me. I don’t mind easing my way into the daylight. By afternoon the skies are blue and that’s fine too.

There are a lot of happy things happening this week. I won’t go into all the details, but among some of the pleasant things to look forward to is the knitting guild Christmas party.

Speaking of knitting, I finished my wormy fringe scarf.

I totally chickened out and did an easier pattern than my daughter-in-law made [she must be a genius] There were things in that pattern that totally confused me.

But I got my wormy fringes.

I’m very happy with how it turned out. I really love these colors.

As I mentioned before, [I think] I haven’t been making any watercolors of late, and when I tried a few about a week ago, they were so bad, I threw them out.

I decided to go back to something I felt comfortable with. I know this will annoy my mother who thinks I’m stuck on painting ‘those ducks’ as she refers to them...and I need to branch out. [Ha ha!]

My birds are not ducks.

But I DO think I might be stuck.

Like a fly on a piece of pecan pie.

How bad can that be? .... really?

Hi Mom!

;-)

You should be more respectful to your mother.

I’m ALWAYS respectful to my mother. But unlike SOME people I know, SHE knows how to take a joke.

I know a joke! I know a joke!

Are you ready?

Why do ducks have flat feet?

Give up?

From stomping out forest fires.

Okay okay...Why do elephants have flat feet?

Give up?

From stomping out burning ducks!

Giggle, giggle, giggle, giggle...

(I need an aspirin...no wait, make that a Harvey Wallbanger or something equally mind numbing.)

(Make that a double.)

Ironically, my mom used to drink Harvey Wallbangers, back in the seventies. Your reference released a sudden flood of memories.

Very nice wormy fringes, by the way. They look far more rugged than the usual variety.
