The clouds have moved in.
The air is cold.
We are waiting for the rain.
Yesterday I spent an hour and a half in the back yard raking, clearing, pruning and cleaning out the gutters all along the back of the house. I think we are ready for it to rain without wishing we had gotten to this or that bit of yard work. I am inordinately smug about it too I must say.
Today I was out and about doing errands. I went to the big fancy nursery here in town and found it quite empty looking and forlorn. I had to remind myself it is the middle of January. But I was there on a mission. I wanted a couple of ground cover plants for my terrarium.
I found two, a wooly one, and one other that I can't remember the name of. But while I was searching for them, I went into the greenhouse area of the store and there, growing all around in the gravel under the shelves was an enchanting little plant.
I asked one of the clerks if they would mind if I took a bit of it [there was a LOT of it growing around], she said she was going to pull that all out anyway, so they got me a little paper bag and we dug some up. YAY!
In this picture, it is in the lower left hand corner. It's adorable and I love it.
Let the storm begin.
I won't mind.
I'm gardening indoors.
