This morning, I had a little errand to do downtown, and since the weather has moderated, got on my bike and toodled down there. There's nothing like a nice bike ride in cool weather.
On my way back, I decided to take a different road. Going slower gives one a whole different perspective on the world.
Near the school, I spied a blackberry bush.
A big one.
That was LOADED with ripe berries.
Whoah nellie!
I hurried home and collected S. and we drove back down there and picked berries till our hands were purple.
S. picked the #1, grade A berries in the bucket on the right.
I was much less discriminating.
I was going for volume, because I'm making blackberry jam. Jam doesn't care from #1 grade A.
However, we may be making pie with the really nice ones.
Later:
My job here is done.
