While on Walkabout, I was blessed to be able to connect with my knitting peeps in the big city.
It was so good to see my knitterly friends and put the big squeeze on 'em.
Turns out they had plans for me too...
Knitters have a language of love.
It's multi-colored, and varied of twist and fiber, but it's all warm, and full of potential.
This is the love that has come my way over the past two weeks …. from four different knitters….
They always tell you that you are doing them this really big favor by helping them draw down some of their guilt inducing stash of yarn.
It's a little game we play with each other. :-)
This pile of yarn brings me such joy. And I want to honor the gestures of love by knitting some truly wonderful things with it all.
There's some hand spun yarn, and some yarn that I have always wanted to knit with but never had the opportunity. Those pale gray disks are Icelandic wool roving actually. Very delicate stuff. I just knit up a swatch to see how it felts.
Experiments will be performed and decisions made.
It's a mini stash all on its own.
Add the above collection to the yarn I bought for myself …
not knowing I was going to be the recipient of so much bounty…. and you see that have the very good beginnings of a guilt inducing stash of my own!
Thank you to all my gift givers. You KNOW who you are!
I'll try to make something wonderful from your generosity of spirit.
Knit brave.
Knit true.
Knit love.
