The weather forecast is calling for rain in the next day or two. This would be so welcome!
But the changing atmosphere causes a certain… unsettled feeling. Like you want to put all your garden tools away, bring in dry wood to fill the woodbox and check in the cupboard to make sure there's cocoa fixin's.
It's all psychological.
However, this change in barometric pressure DOES have other physical effects.
The impending rain spurred the roofing project along.
Mr. P finished the winter 'loafing shed' as I'm calling it, yesterday.
Sweet!
While he was working on it, Lydia and the brood were hanging out in this chicken tunnel I found out in the barn. It was used for putting over corn seedlings in the garden to keep the birds out. There's bird netting all over it, so it keeps the peeps in.
Day before yesterday, I actually caught the chicks RESTING! I could hardly believe my eyes!
And everyone had a preening moment together...
Lordy, it was cute...
But I can't spend ALL my time watching baby chicks, as cute as they are. There's work to be done.
This morning I went out to the garden and picked every ripe tomato.
Canning will commence in, three… two…. one….
