The weather has cooled off considerably over the last few days, but not long ago, on a warm afternoon, I moseyed out to my 'rock studio' to make a few balances.
After a rocky start....
(Oh my god....)
I got in the groove.
I decided since I was going to be working here a fair amount, I would tidy up the area and I transplanted some hardy plants from here and there around the yard as a backdrop.
We'll see what survives. I took plants that were growing on their own in rather inhospitable circumstances already, so this COULD be considered an upgrade for them. :-)
This balance gave me fits. But I finally got it:
At a certain point, I realized that I have collected a lot of rocks that are of a similar size. I'm going to have to do something about that during my next rock gathering field trip.
Couldn't decide which photo I liked the best of this one... so here's another angle...
Now that the temperatures have dropped, I'm back to my other hobby.
Hauling wood.
