I have lived long enough... to know that the weather is a variable thing. You come to accept that there will be anomalies in seasonal temperatures and rainfall [the recent drought is never far from our minds around here]. But every now and then the weather throws in a little zinger just to make sure you are paying attention...
Today was one of those days.

J.R. was even discussing it with the neighbor horse over the fence this morning...
I think I may have to be ready to cover a few things in the garden tonight. The squash and two tomato plants I put in there just for the heck of it are the most vulnerable.
We'll see what else Mother Nature has up her sleeve in the next few days.
In the meantime, I intend to sit near Bruce and keep my toes warm. I also will spend some time shoring up my gardener's 'nerves of steel'.
I have a feeling I may need them.
