Today we did not stray from the homestead until afternoon.
And then we didn't go far.
C. wanted to try her had at watercolors, so I set her up with all the tools she needed, and she did all the rest...
Here are her first forays into this gentle art form:
She looks like a natural to me. :-)
I worked on a watercolor myself, but can't show it to you just yet. It will be heading out soon as a gift for a friend. When they receive it, then I'll post a photo of it.
Then we packed up our camera gear and headed up to the creek.
Where she proceeded to produce her first stone balances:
I love that rectangular rock she found to work with!
And that dark one with the stripes!
It was a day of firsts!
I stayed out of her way and didn't hover. Seemed like that strategy worked. :-)
While she was busy learning the craft, I practiced too.
Here's our combined rock garden...
That one in the foreground has a piece of driftwood for the middle piece. I may try this again.
It's been a wonderful week. We did everything on her list. But we are both kinda tired from so much fresh air and activity! Sometimes I forget I'm an old codger. But we'll recover soon enough and start planning our next series of fortunate events.
