Heatbound
Tue Jul 26 2016

Ah, summer. I have a love/hate relationship with ya. Carrots and corn, kale and cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes are all growing rampant in my garden. This is the good part. The bad part is that it is so freakishly hot out right now, I cannot possibly go out there and enjoy any of it. I do not own an outdoor thermometer. I cannot bear to know what the numbers are. It only makes it seem worse. I just wait till the sun goes down and then go to Weatherbug and see what the bad news was after the fact. While I was typing this, I remembered. It's the time of day when I make a paddle puddle for the chickens. I went out there and sure enough, they were all waiting in the shade by the water bowl. I turned the hose on and let it overflow to make a temporary pond. My chickens are spoiled. And I like spoiling them. Oh yes, now that it has been delivered to its new owner, I can show you the finished scarf... DSC01724L It doesn't seem possible that something so elementary to weave can look so complex. This is plain weave. Nothing fancy. But the yarn makes one look like a wizard weaver.  :-) DSC01721L I was so happy with the result, that while this was soaking to be blocked and dried, I warped the loom right away with more short color change yarn that I bought just recently.... DSC01729L   Let the carnival begin!   DSC01728L It will give me something to do while I am housebound on account of heat. Weaving. I highly recommend it as a hobby. In case you are looking for one... :-)   lime-wild
