This morning I woke up very early.
As I was getting ready to go outside let the chickens out of the coop... I noticed something odd about how things were looking out there.
I checked the time.
It was almost an hour before the sun was supposed to come up... but there was this .... glow.... in the sky.
There were some fairly low, but thin and spread out clouds in the east that were making the horizon very, very bright.
These photos are unaltered. I decided not to tweak them at all to see if they would convey anything close to what was going on out there....
The above photo totally messed with my poor camera's processing abilities. It had NO idea what to do with the scene it was presented with. But when I turned around and looked the other way... this is what I saw....
Like I said, this was probably 45 minutes before the sun actually came up.
I was bemused....
An amazing glow was bathing everything.
I really enjoy taking photographs... but sometimes, the camera flounders with the truly astounding and that old saying becomes real: "You had to be there."
This was one of those times.
