The verdict:
Make it now. I don't think you will be sorry.
I did not make the cornmeal crust. That's a bridge too far in my world. Just use your own favorite pie crust.
And I made just a couple of changes.

- I used at least a teaspoon of lemon zest.
- I added a pinch of salt to the filling,
- I did not make the meringue topping.
- It took a little longer to bake than the directions called for. Just bake it till it's no longer liquidy in the middle.
