There ARE other things going on around here.
I picked the first ears of corn and we ate them for dinner down at mom's last night.
The Tuscan melons are getting bigger every day.
I picked a bowl full of tomatoes.
Lydia is molting in the most alarming way.
The sky is still filled with smoke from the forest fires.
() is still a curmudgeon of the first water.
I still need to lose 10 pounds.

But in the midst of all the mundane bits of life around here... the creative juices are flowing to keep us all from going into a funk.
S. joined me yesterday at the dye pot and constructed her own impressive stack of papers to dye. She brought enough greenery to supply an entire classroom of aspiring eco printers. I'll see if she wants to display any of her work here. Inquiries will be made.

I made a stack of postcards mostly this time.
I'm always amazed at the subtle halos that sometimes show up on various papers....
This time I put divider papers between the postcards to keep the writing side from having so much color imprinted... and as a bonus, I got some pretty images on cheap paper...
I think I can say... that the following postcard is my favorite of everything I have made so far. It just makes me happy on many levels. Walnut leaves and Chamomile.

C. asked me if I had been keeping notes on all these experiments. I'm happy to say that I actually am learning something in my old age and consequently started a book right away. This is what each dye pot gets in my book. A sample from the bundle and notes on what was used:
I suppose I could buy a book or take a class from someone who knows what they are doing, but I have to tell you, the adventure of finding stuff out on my own... even when it's what not to do, is such a delicious process that I'm willing to stumble bumble along for the sheer fun of the ride. :-)
