We had enjoyed quite a bit of warm Spring weather for a few weeks, but suddenly that changed and I'm back to stoking Bruce and trying to stay dry.
But not everything about cooler weather is a bad thing.
The rains have been very good to my chicken pasture.
If I manage this right, it will be the secret of my success with my chickens.
So far it's an absolute wonder to me that the former moonscape has been transformed into this lush carpet of green food for my hens.
Here is is 'before':
And here it was yesterday:
They will only be allowed in there once every few days for a few hours to hopefully preserve the grasses and clovers.
While I was taking this photo, I tied up Finn to the bush nearby. He looks real cute doesn't he?
Only thing is this was just a brief moment that occurred in between something more like this....
"Untie me from this bush right now! Do you HEAR me???? Are you listening? Now! Now! Now!"
Just tryin' to keep it real.
We have our ups and downs. I hope we work our way out of the downs. Because the ups are so sweet. :-)
