Winter changes everything around here.

All the outdoor yard work comes to a screeching halt. Though the chickens still need tending. This is the first snow my young flock has ever witnessed. I have to tell you, they are not amused. They would not set foot out of the coop for about three days.

Being forced to stay inside reminds me of all the things I said last summer. . "Oh, that sounds like a good winter project."

Here's one in the works:

And I tried a little watercolor with moderate success:

It's been a full time job filling up the woodbox and keeping Bruce supplied with the raw materials of his stock in trade.

Along with my re-commitment to blogging came an embarrassing recollection of another diary I started, ahem... four years ago. I decided that this would be a good time to bring it out of the closet and dust it off. If you are interested, it can be found here: https://www.deardiary.org/mysongofsongs/

It's a place where I intend to ramble on about what I'm learning in Torah and may include some links to places I learn from on line and what not. You can take a look if you like.

I've spent a good portion of my day rearranging the furniture in Ten Forward. Because I'm thinking of doing something a little out of the norm for me. I'm getting a small television. The kind that you only watch things from places like Netflix, Amazon, Disney and the like. I have always been annoyed by televisions that become the focus of a room. So I had to think about it a long time. I even made a cardboard cut out of the size of the television and placed it here and there in the room to see if I could tolerate it.

I moved the chairs to a suitable place for viewing the cardboard television...

So far the programming leaves a lot to be desired. :-) But I asked my son A. to help me find the right set and he's working on it. Only thing is, he and his wife insisted on buying it for me. This was NOT my plan! I just needed some advice. However, they pointed out that it was a lot easier to get me the TV than buying me eight Hannukah gifts. So I capitulated. It's very sweet of them.

Anyhoo, that's all the domestic news at the moment. Just thought I would catch up on the mundane things around here. Sort of clear up the backlog. So we can move on to other things.

(Like what?)

Perhaps a new imaginary friend or two would be in order. I think this one is getting a little stale.

(Girl, I'm an institution around here. I have total job security,)

For once, you could be right.

The specialized TV with a comfortable chair is certainly better than hunching over the computer in your office chair trying to watch Amazon or YouTube. Bravo.

It can be nice to have a TV, I do okay with an unobtrusive sized one. You need an ottoman or facsimile thereof, time to visit Davie's?
