I've been using the beautiful traveler's notebook that my school friend G. made for me for a few years now. It has become my 'mini office'. It has my address book, two journal inserts, a pocket for stamps and address labels, and a daily planner insert that I bought from Cocoa Daisy.
I had used up all the pages in the day planner insert and needed a new one. I decided to make my own this time using some of my eco dyed papers. It's been on my kanban board for a while now in the To Do column and since I'm snowed in, I decided it would be a good time to work on it.

I took everything out. And made some decisions about just what would be allowed in the new configuration.

I scrounged around the house looking for several different types of paper to put in the booklet. That's the fun of making something yourself. I scavenged papers from other notebooks and got out my coveted packet of Tomoe River paper and cut a few sheets to size. I assembled them all interspersed with my eco dyed papers and made as tidy a bundle as I could.

Then I poked holes in the whole thing along the crease and sewed it with needle and strong thread.

The tricky part is after you do all this, is the pages need to be trimmed as they sort of stick out because of the layers of folds. I don't have a big strong paper cutter to cut them all at once, so the edges are a bit uneven. But it's a price I'm willing to pay for 'homemade', using materials I already have on hand.

Here's the finished insert with some beautiful chamomile and St. John's Wort prints on the cover.

Re-assembled and ready to rock and roll. This in the traveler's notebook community would be considered a 'chunky monkey' iteration. 'Stuffed to the Gills' more like. :-)
Thank you G. Your leatherwork lives on!
Being snowed in has its rewards. Though I hope I can get out of my driveway soon. It would be nice to join the human race again!
