Today as I was walking out to set a sprinkler under the lilac bushes, I almost stepped on this beautiful Morel mushroom:

It's not a big one, but it was the most pristine morel I have ever picked. I took a bunch of pictures of it and then cut it in half.

What a marvel!
I soaked it in salt water in case there were any little bugs in it, but no, it was a very clean one. I just cooked it in a little butter and garlic and had two bites of deliciousness.
It's a pretty cool thing to be able to eat a bit of food from your front yard. Especially something as unexpected as this little morsel.
It's only one of three mushrooms I know how to identify after going mushroom hunting with an expert.
