Diamine Inkvent Calendar #6
Tue Oct 29 2024

I don't know what to think of today's ink.

When you put it on the paper it is this amazing, eye popping, rich red. Cranberry is the right word for it.

But almost immediately, it starts to dry darker and moodier. There is an undertone of crazy hot pink, but the initial ink drop test separates into a red/brown and green, of all things. I don't actually understand.

In any case, here it is:

I decided to take a picture of my set up when I'm ready to start the test. These are all the things I use to create the page:

My work surface is accumulating quite a few inky reminders. It's just a piece of posterboard right now, but I have been looking at craft mats on Amazon. I wonder if they would get ink stains on them? Not sure. May or may not find out. Posterboard is cheap. A good craft mat is not. 😋

I think, the inklishness very much depends on the type of paper - maybe - experiment with different textures, matt, gloss, carboard, painting canvass, parchment even ;-) ? Also, I find it rather amusing to discover different inklish reactions, so, perhaps, you just have to take it for what it is - the Ink is trying to communicate with the Writer?
