Today we have two ink sample pages. I got behind on posting them.
I'm enjoying another day of rain, which started just about an hour ago. It's a pleasant aspect of sitting at my work table right now to look out and see it falling.
I have been thinking about getting a kind of craft/cutting mat for the desktop, but the way I drop and smear ink and glue and sticky tape runner bits, I don't think the mat would look too good after a while. I just have a piece of posterboard that costs a dollar. It wants replacing right now, but I think I'll wait till after the ink sample tests are all finished.
Here's the promised picture of the Stalogy notebook I glued into the hardcover book I 'mangled' the other day:
It doesn't fit perfectly, but it certainly will suit my purposes to have a solid writing surface. The paper is fountain pen friendly and these notebooks have a bit over 365 pages. The paper is very thin and nice. It could have been a disaster, but it glued in there really nicely. It's solid and will last.
Here's yesterday's ink sampler:
This ink is just a mess in my opinion. I can find very little to redeem it.
Today's ink has no sheen or shimmer. Instead, it literally smells like fruit cocktail.
I have no idea why the dip pen nib I used for the weather report rendered this ink so brownish. But there you are. Mysteries yet to be revealed by all this testing.
