All In One
Sun Oct 31 2004

There was a play (and I can’t remember its title right now), where the leading heroine dreams about her future husband:
“if only he would have ears of Mr. Someone, and eyes of Mr.Someone Else, and a hair of Mr. Such And Such…”

What I’ve been thinking recently…we never have what we ideally want to have. It is always – compromise. Isn’t it – because what we want – never exists?! We have our personal vision of individual virtues, that appeal to us. But where do we get them from? We watch them in others, in many others, in a crowd. And from the crowd we pick out elements for that Ideal Someone. Which is, in fact, just a collective, non-existent image of what in our opinion we deserved.

So the question would be: are we all mistaken, searching whole life for something that is never meant to be real? Is it just a question of a choice? The choice of what do we want the most. And maybe even – what do we want the most in any particular moment? It is how badly we want it that defines which way we chose to go searching. Is it right to live by the rule: when I don’t get what I want in one place, I should get the missing pieces from another’s?

Each of us personifies something special for at least someone. If we don’t match someone’s model, they pass by indifferently. Those who stopped to notice, have need in something that they sense we can give. There is something special in every one of us, something that we can give to others. To those, who’s in need of exactly it. But it is so difficult to give everything that they need!

I often find myself collecting pieces. Something from one, something else – from another…never seems to be able to stop at a single bus stop because not a single route could take me where I want to go…Although sometimes I doubt if I’ve opted for the right destination.
Just wondering now, if anyone actually managed to find “All In One” package…

Expanded Thought
If my Wants contradict each other, does it mean, that I will never get all in one? And what happenns when your wishes changed, turned, u-turned?

~*~
Even More Expanded Thought
If a lot of people love you for one thing, does it mean that you are being "univariate" with the particular label stucked to your forehead for the rest of your life?
"she is kind, I love her"
"she always smiles, I love her"
"she always lends me money, I love her"
"she is somethingelse, I love her"

And now the question would be: if I changed, would they still love me the same?

~*~
And Expanding Once More
If one's changed to complete opposite, would those who love them, start to hate them instead? Or just run away in another search for another ideals?

[~this progressive thought expansion can eventually reach a deadlock. Somebody! Stop my thoughts please!]

I thought I had the all-in-one package at one time. But turns out, I didn't fit his all-in-one package.

So maybe I chose up the wrong package?

all i know is, I am definitely NOT an all-in-one package. Perhaps some of me would be preferred to be discarded by anyone who come closer. nope, I ain't self-bashing. I just know....

I don't think there is an all in one package. I think we settle for the closest thing to what we want, or maybe chemistry even. Maybe lust, but that only lasts so long. I think all relationships need work and they are worth it when both parties want it to work out. I am like, the last person on earth that has the answers about relationships.
