I’d just mention that this is the largest known stone ring in the world.Older than the more famous Stonehenge. But this is not an entry about how great the megalithic stones are. (Although they ARE great, believe me!) But today I want to tell about a Fairy Tree, that I’ve discovered there.
There is a ditch surrounds the stone ring. Rather deep and there is a walking path along its edge, where the views of Avebury’s stones are the most fantastic. And while you travelling along the path, eventually you’ll stumble across a rather strange set of trees. You can think that I’ve got too wild of imagination, but truly, the place just swarms with the traces of fairies! You can see it, feel it, smell it, breath it… I stood in a daze for the picture in front of me was too unreal…As if I’ve stepped inside the different dimension…free from their summer foliage; this group of trees have finally revealed its secret. And a secret is, I’m convinced it is, there is a fairy home somewhere in between those branches…
I took few pictures and want to share here for the trees are just not "just the trees" – see for yourself:
(Note, that I have not edited pics at all, apart from reducing in size! I think, the "unnatural" colour is due to the time those pictures have been taken. Just after the sunset, but right before the dusk)
this is the group of fairy’s trees, as you approach it. They form sort of little circle of a three and one tree stands a lil bit off, but still feels belonging.
Maybe there is a real Fairy hiding somewhere inside this circle?
See how roots creped out to the surface.
It is simply impossible to take in all of the rooted ground – all the mound around those trees covered in their inseparably intertwined roots
And finally – a little blue feather quivers on the wind – perhaps, left by druids that claimed this place for their mysterious ceremonies long ago… |

Well, to add to the mystery of the enchanted place, I’ve been "given" a gift there…standing by the trees, I saw a big branch not far from it, on the top of a mound. It seemed that the branch has fallen off recently (we had very windy last few days here)…and so...here I stand…noticed the branch and a thought poped in for a single moment, that it would’ve be nice to have it for a decorative feature in my room, something like – natural tree branch in floor-standing ceramic vase…hmmmm…and what would you think has happened?! In the impetuous blast of wind the branch rolls over...right to my feet...as a true gift from the Fairy Of The Tree(THANK YOU, Fairy!)
I couldn't believe my eyes…but the thing is…that branch is now standing in the corner of my room (standing, coz it is taller then me - wow!!!) and each time I cast a glance at it, my heart believes in Fairies…
