House Of The Rising Sun
Wed Jan 19 2005

The day started as a “normal” day of failures:

An hour overslept

No breakfast

Damned 9am traffic

When finally got to the office, discovered missing rings.[I did check - and earrings were in place and of one the same pair, so it’s just the rings then]… memory loss, must be age thing…hmmmm…feeling kinda naked now…

And a sticky song I can’t get away from today:
House Of The Rising Sun [The Animals]

Oh mother tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

Somehow this song doesn’t mean anything to me, but rather – to the others…Though, I still can’t get rid of it looping round in my head…[~bummer!]

    Dear Lana
You need a beautiful Russian jewelry box to keep your rings in.. I used to use a tiny wicker basket, but never felt very comfortable with it, as they could be bumped and tipped over and lost, or grabbed by sticky fingers and never found again, or .. well now I have a beautiful Russian box..
How very sweet.. I think you must read minds. I collect boxes and have many of different sizes. Nothing like this one I received today. It sits proudly with my rings inside now.. on my alter until I find permanent place to keep it.. It deserves place of prominence and sacredness for now..
Thanx so very much.. You are just so sweet.. SvetLana..
Have a grand day.. I wrote this once and lost it.. SO if it posts twice, that is why

Yesterday while I was at post office the computers went down. They couldn't do a thing. Couldn't even weight my envelope of sell a stamp.. I said, 'This is awful.. we depend too much on computers..' The lady behind me in line said.. 'Oh this happened at the hospital a day ago and no one could get medicated until the computers came back up... '
I think we need some alternate plan for times when the computers are not working..
I mean that is frightening. I got my stamp and weigh done on machine in hallway. Smart me
    ;0
    So.. all is well
You have a grand day and thank you so very much for such a wonderful and unexpected prize.. I love it very much
