Miss Poly Tick [*rant warning - High]
Fri Jan 19 2007

Many people flash that mystical freedom to say what they think as if it is something that is more important then, say, daily bread or being sure in tomorrow’s…when one thinks of foreign policies of certain countries, it is not the freedom of speech that comes to mind, but more the freedom of illusion…yes, when you have a job and a house and a family and can make plans for the future for your kids, the ability to say what you think, even if it is different from government’s ideas is the most democratic thing to boast about. Yet the peace does not necessary means freedom and when it does, what kind of freedom are we talking about? Freedom from what? To my deeply personal opinion one can only enjoy the freedom when they’re full fed, clothed in and covered from the rain. One can say we liberated, we gave them freedom, but can the other one enjoy this freedom in between the constant struggle for survival for them and their children? You do not build democracy on the ruins of economy. Who needs the freedom of speech if all they can say freely are the words of hatred…and the most scary thing is that there is now a whole new generation of those who has the freedom to revenge for their childhood being lost in the liberating explosions…to me that’s too much of a price.

Thank my lucky ducks I see more tolerance than hatred.

I have the freedom to say ''No''
I have the freedom not to go along with the program.
Those two freedoms may cost me a job, a meal and shelter but the struggles in life are half the adventure.

    Great entry btw =)

You're right, when you're cold and hungry the world gives you a whole different set of eyes.
From what I've seen there are far more caring people than there are indifferent ones.

But what the ''H'' do I know.

Humans aren't animals, so it's totally different. You know, just like bugs totally deserve to die also. We only love the animals that are cute and furry. Like Kittens. But nothing weird looking like an anteater...

There now, Dearie, feel better? Have a nice cuppa and settle down in the recliner.

Oh, I'm teasing. What you're saying here, I'm sure many people have had the same feelings. I recall being frustrated in the workplace, too.

What you say in Miss Poly Tick is very important. I wish you could say it directly to our president. He really needs to hear the voice of reason in this freedom business. He's clueless.
