Yesterday’s series was about how women choose the partner, how natural instincts work in selection process without us realising it. This is fascinating that our bodies and our mind could react differently to the same possible partner…How good you’ve been at anatomy at school? Remember: female species in a flock will always pick up the most reproductive partner? That’s the basic reaction of our body. Instincts are still there to help in selection process. In experiment on that program 8 girls were supposed to rate few men without actually meeting them, based on three senses: tactile – by touching the hand behind the curtain they were to choose the most sexy one. Senses of smell –all of the men have been wearing t-shirts for two days. No smoking, drinking, having sex, etc…so it was just their own odour on the t-shirts, that poor girls got to sniff (ugh!) the last test was – guys have been asked to make few movements behind the screen, where girls could only see their black silhouettes…and again – give their personal rating of sexuality for each…so based on the natural drive, the girls demonstrated amazingly similar results – their ratings have been very close in selection of guys – the most sexy guys happened to be the ones with the highest level of testosterone (this has been measured before the program) Testosterone is the most important representative of the male sex hormones, responsible for such things as sex drive, and the production of sperm cells, the important factors in reproductive function…It was pretty amazing to see how without knowing who’s hand they touch, who’s shirt they smelled, who’s dance they watched, women’s choice was almost unanimous and completely coincided with the results of testosterone test.
I don’t really get it…they touch the hand…I’m trying to imagine doing this…nah…I don’t recall if I ever heard of women discussing men’s hands…the most you could get just a comment about “his big arms”…I don’t know how I would base my ratings in this situation…I don’t think I will care much about the size…perhaps, temperature, moisture, roughness…I don’t know…smell…here I agree that smell can attract or turn away, so I suppose, it would be pretty easy to make a choice based on the odour…movements…nah, wouldn’t do anything for me…I’ve got to see his eyes…how he walks…who cares…how he look at you tells million secrets…But that seems to be in another area…in a wild nature female will never fall for “pretty eyes”…Just proves that in human species there is much more to it then body chemistry…I wonder if there could be a mirrored situation: we make our choice based entirely on the “brain judgement”, without seeing, listening, smelling, touching?...and what would happenned if male and female change places in the similar experiments?
well, I wrote too much for one day…although the topic intrigues me, I would rather wait until next part of this 4-series program and will report back if they’ll show anything worth reporting…:-)
