Thoughts On New Year Resolutions
Wed Dec 28 2005

Once again my parents informed us that, apparently, there is snow everywhere in England. Sometimes I wonder if I live in the same place, all the news reported. Apart from white stuff from yesterday, the grass was green and the skies were blue here today...maybe it is a “black hole”, where I am? Or rather a “green hole”? hmmmm…anyway, Christmas is “that” time of year, you know, anything can happened

Ok, tell me what is the better excitement then a broken car on Christmas? Sneezing nose and scratchy throat, of course! Not only I’ve become Prisoner Of My House because of my car being taken away (and I’ve called the garage today only to be informed that they cannot get the part until next year), but also I’ve been nominated to be the One Who Catches The Flu…now, where on earth could I possibly catch this, without stepping out of the door, I wonder?! And I was so totally ok this morning, I mean – errmmm…afternoon, when I woke up!...oh well…Anyway, now I’m spending my day in a company of Mr Teevee - Best Friend of the coach potatoes and Mrs Tissuebox, who is being very nice and helpful indeed…quite an entertaining company, huh? Surely the Christmas time is time when the dreams come true, just got to make sure they don't drag along some nasty flues or else...

And since I’ve been absolutely free to think of things today, I’ve been thinking…(and I don’t mean that I don’t think under normal circumstances, I just mean that under normal circumstances I’m normally thinking about other things as well...normally...hmmm) and today I’ve been thinking that if I was to write a list of my New Year Resolutions, what I should put in Top Ten… be yourself, never look back, show when you care, don't pretend, feel good, believe in miracles, want less, accept more, share dreams…oh, no, I never actually do New Year resolutions, it was just a thought, that accidentally got entangled in my mind today…I think, if I’ll manage just the first one of them, that will be a good start, don’t you think?

I wonder how many people actually do New Year resolutions in real life and how many of them actually try to make them true? And why we can see so many resolutions made for the year to come, but never actually hear of anything we accomplished from the previous year's list? can anyone remember what resolutions they've made a year ago?

I don't do resolutions. I just do what I can, when I can.

Sorry you're under the weather. But what better time than when you don't have a car to go anywhere, anyway?

    But do get well soon.

    hello lovely Lana
well do get well in a hurry
newyears resolutions are kind of silly really because I think that psychologically you take the time to make schedules and guidelines for yourself as the need arises but to have a designated time to do this kind of goes against the flow
anyway I love your ingredients for happiness

now I know I will have until january 13 to say this but I wont be on line new years eve and new years day
so thankyou for the beautiful leaves of your journal the travel blogs the philosophy the beautiful stories and always your sense of humour youve gotta laugh hey but again as the need arises
