A Pensive Thought
Tue Feb 21 2006

A thought about how we treat each other…are we kind, aggressive or indifferent? How well we communicate? Do we understand each other? I communicate with people from different cultural background. They all treat me differently. And sometimes unwillingly compare their reactions I learn to accept differences that perhaps, in other circumstances would hurt me and make me walk away from people. A sulking child in me wonders why everyone can’t be kind and caring in the same way, way that I can understand (yeah, let's all make up a nice and easy world that this girl can understand!), say HI for no reasons and ask about my mundane life for no other interest as to show they care. In my logical mind I realise that what’s unacceptable behaviour for some, for others is their normality. I can only assume that for some of them I might seem a bit “off the norm” as well, however they do tolerate me and I’m grateful for that. I’ve been thinking that it is strange that I do have friends with so different approach. Although I’m treating them all the same way. Why is that for some it doesn’t seem difficult to reach out and make their friends feel good, yet not having much in common with them. While the others could walk in the middle of your soul, but never say a word, make a step towards. Does the silence means – they are no longer appreciate your friendship?
Or should we try to get friends from the same cultural background to avoid dissapointments?
