Ok, so first (and last, apparently) snow on the 8th of February – that was ok, wasn’t it? Just a "side-effect" of Global Warming, I assume…shrug your shoulders and consider it’s normal…And just when you’d think they finally came to senses in that weather department, opssss…mid-summer in mid-April…bah…
We are being hit by...the Heat Wave. Yep. As far as I remember, I can’t remember when it was last time that we mown the lawn and had first BBQ in April. To be honest, I am not happy. Not at all. I believe I’ve been deprived of my entitlement for sluggish days of spring, when you can’t do much and do not wish to either. Magical days of watching in awe the Nature’s awakening, the beauty of her gentle pallet of pastel colours…Those wonderfully idle days, when you can feel the spring in the air, breathe in her promises and have the dreams of summer lying comfortably on a sofa…
Instead we have the Summer arrived like unbidden guest. As of a sudden teenagers bared legs and bellies, the trees began to emit pollution in panic that they missed their time, the earth in my garden cracked dry…the temperatures jumped to +23C (75F) this Sunday…
I had to remind myself few times that it is truly still April and officially still spring. But looking in the mirror after the weekend spent outdoors, I’ve noticed a touch of the first kiss of sun – a light tan on my face – now that just doesn’t make any sense in April…and looking at the 5-days forecast predicting yet another few days of high temperatures, I hope secretly that the weathermen get it wrong, like the weathermen suppose to…Bring back the Spring! I believe I deserve it :-(
