Where The Dancing Lines Can Take Us
Sat Jan 10 2009

He said: do you want me to get into your pants?...the question came without any warning…amused I asked: does it means that it is you who want to get into my pants?...he said yes why not…a plain text of direct approach…wow…I 've never come across this one yet…I suppose it is a legal part of adult relationships, one of the many I've been unaware of before...the whole evening was an adventure. Not into the pants, mind you. But after a week of walking on the thin line between daily routine and unhealthy giveitallup attitude I’ve received much needed kick in the butt and conveniently remembered of the advert I’ve seen earlier...it was about…line dancing in the village hall of the nearby village (?!) …now, dancing was never “my thing”, I remember this statement I made some time ago and after I made it I went to the ceroc classes…that was in September and now I found myself still dancing away one night a week promptly…there must be something in it for me then, right? But ceroc was a dance style I’ve never heard of until I start doing it and line dance was something I’ve been pondering if I should try for quite a while. Why, I’m not sure. Perhaps because of the name, it associates with something simple enough for the people with two left feet and no sense of the beat?

So as I’ve been tasked with getting out of the house, I thought that village hall could be the place to go…so I did…I also tagged along a lodger who lives at my next door’s. He expressed interest in going so off we went (it was him I quoted in the beginning) But back to the lines and dances…it was fun…sort of…I cannot say I’m disappointed. Yet I couldn’t say I liked it as much as I thought I would. Perhaps, it was not so about the dance itself, but more about the crowd…I don’t know…I think I’m unsure if it is for me, the dancing in line with a hundred people, all doing exactly the same thing…for some reason it reminded me the march drills we used to do before every parade back in my “communist” childhood…"left foot to the front, right foot to the side..." it was also too easy, not much of a challenge to learn…but I do appreciate that it might be because of the first lesson and the teacher wanted to take it slowly…anyway, I’m left undecided if I am to go there again next week, we’ll see when the time comes closer to it…so yeah, I can call myself a Dancing Queen now…hmmmm…or shall I say – a Dancing Freak?...and for those who scrolled here in a hope to find out how the getting into pants business went, sorry, there wasn’t any getting into anybody’s pants after all – we voted and I decided against…and no hard feelings either – a comfortable situation of mutually satisfying outcome regardless of the results achieved…

It's not about the dancing, it's about getting yourself OUT OF THE HOUSE!

It might not be "your thing," but at least you gave it a try.

I think you should do it again...

    :o)
