Strange spurious errors

I've received reports that DD is not responding properly on a number of occasions, with people seeing 404 errors, Internal Server Errors and occasionally a white screen that says simply 'test'.

I've been unable to reproduce these things here - that's not to say they don't exist, just that the conditions are not right for me to see it. If you experience such an error, please forward to me the exact address you've seen this at (copy and paste it from your address bar) so I can see if there's some kind of pattern going on, or try to make it happen myself.

I can only assume it's something to do with the modifications I made the other day, but I can't see why as yet.

Please bear with me while I try to look at what's going on, and please provide me as much information you can in an error report.

    I've had both those things.. 404 server and test the last 3 days.. this is the first day I could get in. I tried to send you an email and it came back .. I sent to [email protected].. that is not your email I take it...

    I couldnt get in since yesterday so I had my pet geek look into it and this is what he said "Looks like there's a problem with the DNS servers... the primary doesn't appear to be responding correctly, and the secondary is giving the wrong address. I could be wrong of course, but ns2.kabarty.net (his secondary) is giving us the address of his mail server instead of the web server, and the mail server is the one that says "testing" instead of giving something meaningful."

    hope this helps. He has put in a fix for my on my comp that seems to be working (using a preset value for the DNS lookup instead of asking)
