We have been watching because we are suckers for science fiction.
But I am having to work at staying with it on some levels. Perhaps it's because there are a few too many characters. And last night it occured to me they are a bit like CARDBOARD characters ! The thing about telling a good story is getting people to relate to the people in it. Then whatever happens, you have the connection. In a way it makes me feel better as a writer to know that even the really GREAT storytellers sometimes struggle to find this place too.
Yes Virginia, I just called myself a writer. One who WRITES. I have confered upon myself the title ! I will stop apologizing for it, like it's a secret little 'thing' I do in my spare time. A hobby. It is becoming much more than that.
Last night I had a dream. I had been reading a book and had just started a new chapter. Something in the first few words of the book clicked in my head. I saw myself in the mirror at that moment, (it's kind of funny, I had on my reading glasses) and I said to myself out loud.'I am ready to write.' In my dream at least, I KNEW what it is I wanted to write about. It was a very liberating feeling, like starting out on a journey that you are not really sure of the desitation quite yet. But you are very happy to have begun.
Now, if I can just have a dream that includes the SUBJECT of said writing, I can get to work on it ;-)
