I met some really great co-workers, had a very busy day assembling badges and checking people into lectures. They tell us today was an easy day, that the day to fear is day after tomorrow when the exhibits open.
Whenever they talk about it, they roll their eyes knowingly. “The hour and a half from hell.” “The line will go half way around the building.”
“Just wait till Wednesday.”
Okay, okay, but at least we won’t be twiddling our thumbs and watching the clock. And frankly what would be the more challenging hour and a half, scanning and stuffing plastic sleeves with paper while people wait, or going through the final stages of labor and delivery?
(. . .I’ll wait while you think it over. . . . )
Bring on the badges !
You got THAT right !
So I am prepared to be an old hand at riding the train tomorrow. Well, maybe by the end of the week, I will be an old hand. I am so tired tonight, I can’t even figure out what train to take in the morning as my hours will be different than today’s.
It’s the little things that get you.
Anyhoo, I survived. And truthfully, it was fun.
