Macro Geek

Guess what I learned to do?

I learned how to make Macros in Word.

(Well duh there Cupcake, where have YOU been?)

Oh you know, paying the bills, cooking, cleaning, shopping, gardening, writing novels…..all things in the non-geeky world, that sort of thing.

But really, I only learned about them from a co-worker last summer who used them on her computer. She had a pop up screen that she could choose phrases from. I don't have that, but I wrote some HTML tags in the Macro thingy and now I can change fonts easily in my diary.
Although I can’t use my really whacky ones unless I want to take a “picture” of them my youngest son tells me. But hey I might even try that!

The standard Windows fonts are not that exciting, but at least it’s a change.

I have been consulting with my paper shredder this morning. I had a BUNCH of checks to shred since we opened a new checking account and then I started in on the pile of junk mail that I had been saving up for just such a day as this and shredded all those lovely credit card applications … “You are Pre-Approved!” …. Along with the lovely blank checks that they send for your debt convenience. As soon as these people hear that some other credit card company is making money off you, they want a piece of the action. “Send us money too! We want your money too! Please, please, please???”

I find those blank checks particularly insidious. I am sure that every day, some confused or elderly or maybe not so bright person runs to the bank and cashes one or two of those things and a month later is stunned, indignant, and confused when they get a bill. Those things should be illegal.

Anyhoo, that’s about it around here for the day.

Now it’s time to hit Crtl-W for the little orange bar.

Voila !

I need to learn how to do that so I can change the fonts in my diary easier and add things to it too.

Just when I thought my dilated eyes were getting back to normal - your font was changing before my eyes! Time to step away from the computer again, but not before giving you this link:

It's really long but a great story, in line with your fake check musings. True, too.

    Have a wonderful evening!

    Hey there!

I was alerted to your recent entry and I have to say I was very touched by what you wrote (and all the responses!)

Things are going really well over here. Christmas was fun, my little project is going nicely and it hasn't rained in two days. You can't ask for more than that, eh?

About my own diary: I've been planning on taking it up again in the very near future. After the weekend, I think. Monday maybe?

I see there have been some changes to DD since I last updated, some that I don't understand. I'm going to have to look at the official DD diary to make sense of it all.

Regarding shredders, I keep getting letters from National Geographic begging me for money that I'd love to send through one. I usually wind up ripping them into little pieces with my hands, but a machine would be that much more satisfying.

Have a great weekend, eh. (thanks again for all the well wishes!)

I'm impressed by the macros thing because I can't figure out anything in word. I'm not even sure what a macro is all I know is that it sounds busy and important.

Well done anyway and I'm very envious of your ability to shred junk mail if only we had that for internet spam.

    Love
    Rach xx

Good morning, Cupcake...Hope you're having a great year so far. I have no clue as to what you are talking about, but if I had a clue I'm sure it would be very interesting. TA,TA! Parett
