What Teatime is It?
Thu Jun 24 2004

What a day this has been, what a rare mood I'm in.

Why it's almost like being in .... normal.

I'm telling you, keeping up with DD and email correspondence is no small job.
But I finally got caught up and had time to get busy with my really real chores.

I re-arranged my milk and eggs in the fridge.

Hey, this is serious business. I had to empty two shelves completely, wash them, adjust the height of one so I can fit a gallon of milk on a lower shelf. Then I took 3 dozen eggs out of the cartons and put them in the egg bin, thus creating more space for my science experiments. Of course before I could do this, I needed to make the bed, pick up all the clutter, hose off the back patio and empty the dishwasher. You can't rush into refrigerator work you know.

I like this time of month. There are no bills. For about a week, I don't get one bill in the mail. It just makes me feel warm all over.

On the Tea Quest front, I have tried some Ginger Peach sent to me by a relative, that I am afraid was too strong for me. I found a wooden tea tray with a lovely white wash finish at the thrift store for a dollar. At the same store, I bought a little white ceramic creamer pitcher that I will use to heat water in the microwave. And in a moment of madness, got out one of my sterling silver spoons and polished it up, and it's now resting dashingly on my one and only Royal Albert teacup. (Lilac "Blossomtime Series).
I found it at a consignment store a few weeks ago.
You can see a picture of it here:

So, on my list of "Teas I Like" are:

Chamomile
Numi's Chai
Republic of Tea's Blackberry Sage

But the more I read about tea and research the subject, the more I realize how MANY kinds of tea there are. I will NEVER have time to try them all. I MUST find that teashop here in town and do some taste testing.

And one last thing, if you want to read my latest Weblog Reviewfeel free to check it out.

It's never a dull moment over there, let me tell you.

That is a very pretty teacup.

I used to have two pretty teacups/saucers. Mark bought them for me when we had High Tea at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. I say used to, because when Nathan was a toddler he managed to climb up the shelves and sent both sets flying to the floor. I ended up one teacup and one saucer mismatched. *sigh* I feel inspired though to set things right and think I shall treat myself to some pretty new/old tea things.

There are few things as satisfying as a beautiful tea time in the garden. Care to join me?

My grandmother uses her pretty teacups as planters African violets. I don't regard this as a slight to tea people, as the cups do look so pretty with the flowers above. Every time I see tea in the stores I think of you lately.

Republic of Tea's Blackberry Sage is one of my favorite as well. I know that Republic of tea can be pricy, but I think it's well worth it. Our whole foods sells them in bulk as well as in the cans...so I just refill the cans when they're empty and it's cheaper bulk than pre-packaged.

what i meant to say was that the humour is there but because of the extremity and violence of the humour only a small minority will find it funny and would be willing to wade through the coarseness to get there and that is too bad because he is out to be popular and this infringes on the way he really wants to express himself
still no tea cup oh well will try tomorrow

I know what you mean about keeping up with DD correspondance! Wow your preparations for tea seem very grand, considering I'm one of those who merely dunk the bag into hot water types. Maybe you were a geisha in a past life?

If only the bill free weeks were longer huh?

oooh tea, the best drink of the day! I am very particular about the preparation of my tea, the teapot has to be warmed, the water freshly drawn and the tea brewed for exactly the correct amount of time...and of course it tastes so much better when it is made by DH who has dilligently followed these instructions! Assam is my favourite.
