Diary? What Diary?
Thu Jul 15 2004

I had so many things going on today, I forgot all about writing in my diary!

But then, it's true, I am easily distracted these days.

I started out with a walk with my friend D. Came home, got cleaned up, then my other friend S. called long distance and we had to catch up on everything that was going on in her neck of the woods.

Then I read a bunch of diaries and noticed that Weblog Review is telling me to get over there and do some reviews, as some people have paid their money and now we have to get them done within 5 days. Uh oh.

I gathered up my stuff and headed out to meet a friend at her work and we drove over to a consignment furniture store where she bought a nice big dining room table and 6 chairs and a side board cupboard and a large china cabinet with glass doors. We drove back to her job describing in detail to each other who we were going to have over to her house for Shabbat dinner and what we were going to cook for the meal. I'm in charge of chicken and challah, she is in charge of rice and steamed vegetables!

Then I hauled myself over to Costco to buy a bale of toilet paper. (36 rolls) Oy! And three cases of chili that my dad likes that they have been out of at his Costco. I also made an impulse purchase, which is not usually my habit. They had pajama bottoms in plaid cotton flannel that I have been wanting to get for ages. I guess they think winter is coming. You can't tell that from the 95 degree weather...But there they were and I bought a package with two pair. It took me 15 minutes to decide which ones to get, as each package had paired up different colors. I finally decided on a pack that had a blue pair and a lilac pair. Whew! It's a good thing I was alone. Hub Man would have been having a conniption watching me hem and haw, had he been along.

Then I raced home in time to receive the Pragmatist for an afternoon of intense conversation. I will not disclose the details however. But just let me say, we covered A LOT of ground in 2 hours. . . :-)

THEN 45 minutes later, I headed back out to Yoga class where Sarah worked us over in her inimitable style. Came home and heated up some kosher hot dogs and we had dinner.

I finished it off with a HUGE red plum that I got at Costco. I consumed it in the recommended manner from my DD friends. Standing over the sink slurping and dripping. YUM YUM!

So that, dear friends, is why I almost forgot to write in my diary today.
I was busy with my really real life here in suburbia.
(Who says being a homemaker is boring?)

Sounds like you had a great day, and I think I may have mused over those same pajamas here at our costco this evening. That is, until Hubby dragged me away from them. ;^D

    Busy day.

Had the tomatoes with my cottage cheese this evening. You don't care for them???? I thought they were delicious. Sweeter than anything I've bought in the stores. I think I'll have a plum for my goodnight snack.

Visited your rampant garden for a few minutes, and realized that not only are your thumbs green, all ten digits must have the tincture.

It was a good day, and I probably ought to go update my diary.

    Shalom

Being a homemaker is many things, but seldom boring. There are not enough hours in the day to do everything I want or need to get done. :)

I love shopping alone. I seem to come home with less surprises. I am not that much of an impulsive buyer but Hubby is. He will fill a shopping cart to the top with any shiny object. An example of us shopping at the grocery store:

4 different kinds of Oreo cookies
    1 bag of marshmallows
    1 box of graham crackers
    2 packages of s'more sticks
    3 packages of chocolate bars
1 can of Golden Syrup (no idea why he bought this, neither did he)
    2 bags of chips
    2 different flavors of dip
and the eggs, milk, bread and tomatoes that I needed.

Hubby is an expensive pet. If I went shopping alone the bill would have run about 10 dollars. With him shopping by my side, $60.

Oh well, I guess I will make him go fetch me a cup of tea.... LOL

    Bright Blessings... Bogo
