Shop Till You Drop

Okay, I want to make this perfectly clear.

I want some new fonts. I want to be able to use some new fonts here and have you enjoy their wonderfulness too! I am TIRED of these fonts.... Tired Tired Tired!

Deep breath.

Today was my business day. I took care of business. I spent a slap hour paying the bills this morning. I had to tie my leg to the chair at my desk to do it, but it got done. Then I cut up a bunch of tomatoes from the garden and placed them in the food dehydrator. It smells like tomato soup in here now. They won't be dry till morning I reckon. Then I headed out to get groceries. Lots and lots of groceries. It's astonishing to me how much food two people can eat.

I hauled myself over to Wal-Mart, then Safeway, then Costco. After Costco I had to come home. For one thing I was out of money, and the other, I forgot (again) to take a bottle of water with me. And to complicate matters I had missed lunchtime. Not a good combination. By the time I got home I had tunnel vision. But thank goodness there were fresh tomato basil bagels and cream cheese in my grocery bags. Plus some truly weird and wonderful little fruits that I bought at Safeway.

I asked the produce manager who was marking prices what the best buy of the day was on fruit. He led me to the Pluots. 99cents a pound. (If you see those, buy them!) But while he was showing me those, I asked him what these little squashed looking peach like things were. I forget what he called them. They look like peach donuts. He sliced a chunk off for me and I said the blessing and ate it. My my my. You gotta try them sometime. If you like white peaches, you will like these.

So now I am home safe. Shopping and bill paying done. Surrounded by ripe summer fruits.

Who could ask for more?

(Maybe a brownie and a glass of ice cold milk)

You WOULD bring that up wouldn't you!

I love the pluots but can't find them here this year. Maybe you'll start a trend since you were able to buy some! I've seen those little peaches, too, I'll have to try one.

Strangely enough, those little peaches are often marketed as *donut peaches.* Their real variety name is Saturn peaches, though. They have been a favorite of mine for four years now. The best way to eat them is to just break them in half, pull the tiny little round pit from the middle and chow down! They are truly wonderful, and if I can ever find a Saturn peach tree, I will give it to my mother. She's got room for another tree up at her house. I don't have room for one here.

BTW, if those Saturn peaches aren't absolutely ripe, they have all the flavor and sweetness of a raw potato. :-P

I never saw nor heard of anything like them. I suspect I'll have to put in a special request if I ever want to see one in these parts.

I love fresh fruit from the blessings of summer. Such a luxury to taste all different varities of fruit in your grocery store. We don't have that here. Our stores are not that good at introducing the public to new fruits and vegetables. I do miss Safeway.

Now a brownie and milk as a sweet treat sounds heavenly, guess I should do some baking tomorrow since the humidity and heat has died down. Thanks for the idea!

    Bright Blessings.... Bogo

I always run out of money at Costco. Everything is $10.00, did you notice that? LOL So 10 items later I am ranking round a hundred bucks and no where to put that gallon jug of mustard. LMAO
