The final poll was taken. America has spoken. Now let's get to work.

In other puzzlements, can anyone tell me why I have this huge blank area at the bottom of my diary? I want it to go away. I am open to suggestions. I have stared at the footer html in the customizer until my eyes are crossed and can't figure it out.

Mine does this frequently. I usually find that if I go into the footer or header (wherever the space is) numerous blank lines usually have magically appeared from nowhere. Delete them and the big blank space goes away.

The problem with the extra space is blank space like on a word document. (You know if you hit enter a gazillion times and get your cursor 3 pages down you'll print 3 pages of blank stuff) You need to delete the space, like hitting the delete key until the cursor moves up. Understand what I mean? I had the same problem on my diary.

Yeah, I suddenly got all that blank space, too, and I can't get rid of it. I tried everything, including the fixes mentioned here, but I still have it! Maybe it's really in my brain... :)

Well, I missed yesterday's poll...but hubby and I did in fact vote for Bush...Hmmm...maybe that's why the exit polls were soooooo off??? Perhaps they "missed" a bunch of us??

?? Oddly, I still see a big blank space between the brown divider and the link to Lisa's Clipart.

On my own page, I think it has something to do with the table I inserted between my links to other diarists form and my icons in the footer. Maybe Steve can help me.

Sorry to overload your Comments section, and feel free to delete this if you want. I just succeeded in getting rid of the space by deleting every single break in the footer message. The HTML is now a big mess (no spaces between tags at ALL), but the page looks better! Thanks! :) Oh, and well done on your candidate winning. No hard feelings! :)

Sorry I'm only rarely open to bribery, cookies I don't do! Remember I'm the skinney thing that's lost 38lbs not eating cookies. But I would love to dive into your attic - it's a revolutionary experience up there. Wish you lived close I'd be on for it. Congrats on being in the top 10....

Sorry I don't do dark matter either....in fact I'm absolutely hopeless at computer stuff. Ask Steve he's the oracle. He fixed my prob with Supertrooper. Or else you could always fill it with something special! Good luck!

It doesn't look like it from hitting "view source", but do you have a table in your footer? A table can insert extra returns into your page. If you do, let me know and I'll tell you how to fix it.

I had this same problem a while back and found the problem was just as others have described, but I could not see those spaces just by looking. I set my cursor at the very beginning of the first chunk of html code and started hitting the back space. Sure enough, it kept backing up and taking the little buggers out. Kind of like ghost busting. *shoo Casper, shoo!* :)

you're welcome. that's just the simple solution steve told me when i had that prob. i still see some spaces around here. just highlight those blank spaces and delete and your dd will look great as usual.
