Winter Winds
Sun Nov 28 2004

You know, it must be winter.

A chill wind blows even here in the City of Trees.

A tail wind blew us home today from the mountains. That same wind has blown the air so clear, we could gaze on a certain snowy mountain peak, fading in the distance behind us for many miles more than we can ever remember doing.

It snowed a respectable skiff while we were up there, which was a nice gift for me, though I didn't really get to see it happen as it came in the dead of night.

Hub Man and I ended up getting showered with it when we went to pick Quinces off a friend's tree. At least we know that they are ripe now! Everyone says they don't ripen till after a frost. Now we have jelly to make. I need more half pint and pint jars.

I found the address of Dear Diary for those of you who might like to send them a Christmas or Hannukah gift in the mail.

I'm sending off a little something myself in the morning.

I am promised some digital pictures of our Thanksgiving dinner from my youngest son and his wife, so as soon as I get them, I will share them here.

Please excuse me now, I have 44 Dear Diary notifies to work my way through !

I'm glad the snow was THERE and not HERE.

My sister sent me a series of books, the first one of which reminded me of the conversation we had last week. I'll bring it along, and you can read the first few chapters, or the whole book if it holds your interest.

    Shalom

Sounds like your holiday was a good one! I used to have a Quince tree/bush in the yard of my last house. I didn't know what it was until after I moved away. Oh well, now I know better and maybe can have another in the future!

No snow here though it has been plenty cold enough. I can't wait to see the pictures!

It's way too early for snow. I'm still getting used to the idea of frosts!

We are in the midst of a winter chill but nary a snowflake can be seen. This may be for the best since I so dislike driving in the stuff and I NEED the boys to be in school. Its been a long weekend. :)
