Kitty Love Bites
Fri Dec 03 2004

Home again. Safe and sound.

Regarding comments... Yes it WAS a broken tooth, but I had enough left to put a filling into. And the novocaine thing.... my dentist is masterful at it. I can honestly say, I felt one little twinge not worth mentioning, and the rest was oblivion.

Griffen was very happy to see me. So happy that after the first few cuddles, the toe biting began. He has been dispatched to the back yard to explore the foliage and get his fidgits out.

Must take my leave and do some catching up. Shabbat approaches... I better get moving!

I still keep finding scratches from our temporary kitty that I didn't realize he left for me. They are good at that, aren't they? ;o)

The little tip bit you're asking about is a picot, but it does take a bit of practice to get them to look right. If I hadn't done a bunch of them in snowflakes then I wouldn't like them now. To make a picot, 99% of the time though some patternbooks will tell you differently, chain 3 in a stitch, then slip stitch in the third chain from the hook. That makes the tip.

This is how I did the edging...
sc around in each stitch, join at beginning with sl st and ch 1. Sc in same stitch as joining and ch 4. Skip next two st and sc in next st. Ch 4, skip next two st and sc in next st around (makes the loopy part). Join with sl st to first sc, sl st into ch 4 space. Sc 2 times, work picot, sc in ch 4 space, skip next sc and repeat to beginning.

    Does that make sense?

All things considered this has been a traumatic week, hasn't it?

Now that your tooth is fully recovered and you are home safe and sound I do hope all will settle back into a normal routine soon.

Good job in "dispatching Griffen to the back yard". Kitty nibbles should definitely be discouraged. It took a good few months to train mine not to "taste" after I became immunosuppressed, and Clueless still forgets and tries to comb my skin with his teeth once in a while. Serves me right for not nipping the nipping in the bud first off.
