Another Clueless Cat
Mon Jan 03 2005

Griffen sleeps peacefully in his basket on my computer desk. He sighs and re-positions himself, curling up into a tighter ball, completely oblivious to the events that will unfold come 9:00 AM tomorrow morning.

The vet has been called. The operation scheduled. His family jewels are in jeopardy, and he is taking a nap. [One of many today.] So typically feline of him.

We shall see what his demeanor is the morrow. One hopes it will be as serene.

Let us also hope he has a short memory.

And a forgiving nature.

It may depend on the nature of his travel accomodations. He is far less likely to forgive missing breakfast and being stuffed in a box to be carted to the vet than of the operation itself. After all, he will sleep thru that.

I am certain that after sufficient guilt has been heaped upon your head he will decide that being overly grumpy with the person who feeds him and lets him sleep in a cozy basket on her computer desk is not the best strategy. Forgiveness will come in due time.

Poor Baby! But a pat on the back to you for being such a responsible pet owner! I have only had pets of the female persuasion, but I still cried buckets when the inevitable had to happen. They do forgive (or they at least have short memories!)

Be prepared to open your wallet for toys and treats to assuage your feelings of guilt...but sleep easy knowing that you are doing the right thing.

Such a sweet little cat when sleeping--but remember that you want him to be "Household Compatible" and therefore, you must make some decisions on his behalf!

glad to hear he's feeling relaxed for now. we had a cat who somehow knew everytime she was going to the vets (which wasn't often either) and would disappear on the day

all the best to little griffen

RYC: All the pictures I took of Mister last year save one came out dark. The one did not look very good. I really have to get on the stick and do that sometime!

You know, being a day behind on reading diaries means that I've already seen today's title but not read it... and from this entry I suddenly realize what it must be referring to. Not at all what I was guessing! ;o)
