Forty Days Report
Wed Aug 03 2005

I suppose it is time to file my report on my 40 days experiment, the 40 days having expired and all....

Here is what I wrote back then: Go here if you have no idea what I am talking about.

Part of the experiment was to see if drinking green tea had any effect in the weight loss department. I can wholeheartedly and unequivocally inform you now, that it had no effect whatsoever. Though I have developed a taste for green tea used in the making of jello, but that is neither here nor there.

However. That was not the only thing on the list that I wanted to do during the 40 days. There were other habits that I wanted to firm up in my life, and in that department I can wholeheartedly and unequivocally inform you that this part was a complete success.

Regular vitamin taking, yoga practicing, creativity, finding ways to keep in a positive frame of mind, reading more, and even taking better care of my skin are all things that I managed to do on a regular basis.

Add to this the fact that I tried out a pain management trick my doctor told me about for my monthly situation that helped me have a virtually pain free time of it and two conversations with two different (very wise) young women about living our lives with simcha (joy).... I have emerged from my 40 days stronger, healthier, happier and more hopeful. But I still weigh pretty much the same. I HAVE however been making better food choices, which has lead to me feeling much better overall.

So I would say that I am happy I embarked upon my 40 day journey. And plan to continue some of my new habits.

But listen, in the future if I pop up with some other big project idea like this, somebody encourage me to try 2 or 3 things at a time instead of the 16 things on this list. That's too many. As a matter of fact it was silly.

(When has "silly" ever stopped her before?)

Oy. Go take your vitamins ( ).

I hadn't read your first entry about the experiment until now but it was inspiring. Not only did you accomplish the things you wanted to, you have inspired someone else to do the same for herself.

I don't have the same things on my list, but its all the same goal: to better one self. Thank you very much.

    Congratulations on your 40 days.

I wonder if 40 days of disciplined housekeeping is a doable project for me.

you are a star to make it, I enjoyed reading it and I am glad you have kept up with the positive moves in your life. I am now going back to re-read the entry and see what the 16 things were.

silly is good...but I never for one moment thought the green tea would work *wink*

Trying 16 changes at once might be seen as silly by some, but I'm impressed that you stuck with all of it. That took discipline; a trait many lack. Congratulations. :)

I'm glad you're feeling better in your general health, even though the green tea didn't really live up to your expectations. It's always good to feel better. ;-)
