I suppose it is time to file my report on my 40 days experiment, the 40 days having expired and all....
Here is what I wrote back then: Go here if you have no idea what I am talking about.
Part of the experiment was to see if drinking green tea had any effect in the weight loss department. I can wholeheartedly and unequivocally inform you now, that it had no effect whatsoever. Though I have developed a taste for green tea used in the making of jello, but that is neither here nor there.
However. That was not the only thing on the list that I wanted to do during the 40 days. There were other habits that I wanted to firm up in my life, and in that department I can wholeheartedly and unequivocally inform you that this part was a complete success.
Regular vitamin taking, yoga practicing, creativity, finding ways to keep in a positive frame of mind, reading more, and even taking better care of my skin are all things that I managed to do on a regular basis.
Add to this the fact that I tried out a pain management trick my doctor told me about for my monthly situation that helped me have a virtually pain free time of it and two conversations with two different (very wise) young women about living our lives with simcha (joy).... I have emerged from my 40 days stronger, healthier, happier and more hopeful. But I still weigh pretty much the same. I HAVE however been making better food choices, which has lead to me feeling much better overall.
So I would say that I am happy I embarked upon my 40 day journey. And plan to continue some of my new habits.
But listen, in the future if I pop up with some other big project idea like this, somebody encourage me to try 2 or 3 things at a time instead of the 16 things on this list. That's too many. As a matter of fact it was silly.
(When has "silly" ever stopped her before?)
Oy. Go take your vitamins ( ).
