"Always wear a smile.
The gift of life will then be
yours to give.

Sometimes, people are
terribly distressed but
have no one to whom
they can unburden themselves.
If you come along with
a happy face,
you cheer them
and give them new life."

Somebody else said something about a smile:

Smile when you answer the phone. The person on the other end of the line will hear the smile in your voice.

    Shalom

I like the saying "Smile, it will make people wonder what you're up to".

yes I agree with what Rabbi Nachman says good cheer is healing

this is a bit sad but it fits in with the theme of this post

when my friend was dying I thought oh what can I do and I read all these books on dying to see if I could find something tohelp him as if the answer could ever be found in a book and the book said about all you can do is be there and be cheerful and I guess it did reinforce what I already knew and I guess it did give me the courage to be cheerful
