My Two Cents
Fri Jan 13 2006

I had to drive around like a here and thereian just to do two simple things.
Give my time sheet to the office, with a new direct deposit number, and get some 2 cent stamps. I have been away from the house for an hour and 15 minutes.

Ridiculous.

You know what I miss?

Driving down the road and having the person behind you be about a mile away. That's what it was like driving for most of my life. Living in a rural area, driving was actually relaxing and entertaining, because the scenery was wonderful too.

Down here, I feel like I am being pushed down the road ALL the time. I am just one more of the sheeple whizzing around in our automobiles.

Ick.
Ack.
Gag.
Drat.

Okay. I'll stop.

(Oh we are SO thankful...)

At least I am home now and can get on with the much more enjoyable things of the day, like baking some sourdough bread and working on some paper projects. My neighbor showed me how to fold pretty papers into envelopes. You write your letter on the inside, and then fold it up and mail it. They are really neat. She has a big craft book that has all kinds of ideas like that for making your own cards and what not.

But I couldn't mail anything without those 2 cent stamps you see.....

Once more into the domestic breach!

    Two cents worth....

And here I thought you were going to comment on something like the Alito hearings or the pompous bombastic political windbags who ran them. *grins*

That's because they ALL want to be first!

I like the envelope-letter thing. Will you show me>

I learned to drive in the wide open spaces, but I really learned to drive in El Paso. I came to the conclusion that if I could drive there, I could drive anywhere. Nothing would faze me.

But I do get the feeling that there is a myriad of idiots on the road.

Wow is it only 2 cents to post a letter there ?
The cheapest here is 45 cents for local ..and a $1 45c for over seas .

Glad to see Sunny is settling in well .

I miss being able to enjoy driving, too. There's just too many maniacs in a flying hurry today. ;-)

Waaaayyyyy back in the early 80s I lived just off of one of the busiest roads in the US. HATED it! Hated driving in the city (and it wasn't even a huge one). Ohhhhh so much simpler in those quiet rural areas where the people wave at you from their yards and porches as you pass by . . .
