You know something else that occurred to me after a question put to me by Allimom?
You want to know one of the reasons (the first of which is that we still maintain that people should have freedom of religion in America) - that we don't "retaliate" over the craziness of radical islamic terrorists, by say burning down a few dozen mosques, is that we know that if we get caught doing such a stupid and asinine thing, we will surely be put in jail for a good long time.
In other words, we are held accountable for our actions. It is assumed that we had free choice and we chose to be a dumb_ _ _, and we should be put away for a while to think that over.
But in the islamic world, a legitimate defense of heinous acts such as murdering your daughter because she had done something improper, is that you were "overcome" by your zeal of islam. You were so righteously indignant, that you just could not help yourself.
That's all it takes to get off the hook for murder.
So how much easier is it to excuse burning down buildings and torching cars? And if a few people get killed in the process, well, that's an unfortunate side effect of your pristine, understandable, "reasonable" rage.
The imam of Denmark said as much on 60 Minutes the other day. I was surprised that the reporter didn't fall off his chair at the audacity of his statement.
So, in the logic of my little world, it all boils down to this: We are grown ups. They are acting like children, who have not come to the age of accountability.
(You just left yourself wide open for criticism. The old "us" and "them" argument.)
Well, ( ) there are times in history when you have to draw lines in the sand. Stand up and be counted. Choose a side.
I'm choosing the side of civilization and adult behavior.
(You are SUCH a radical !)
Get used to it.
