Yom Kippur And Other Miracles
Tue Oct 03 2006

I am fresh from the fast of Yom Kippur.

A day of Atonement.

I have lived through several years of Yom Kippurim, but this one was a bit different.

I feel different.

So different in fact that I am about to do something I have avoided ever since I started this diary. Which by the way, a month from now will be four years. Wow. Four years at Dear Diary. Whoda thunk it?

It's going to take me some time to figure out what happened during the prayers just prior to the blowing of the shofar.

But until I do,

I'm coming out of the shadows...

Brace yourself.

What's been behind the curtain.

"I don't see what all the fuss is about.
I see her every day.
Big whoop.
And while we're talking,
I would like to know
why no one around here
ate or drank a drop
all day long yesterday.
Is that healthy?
I don't think so."

What a nice picture of you! Not at all how I'd pictured you - but that always happens to me when I finally see a picture of someone online. Anyway, love the pic.

4 years here, eh? I think I've been here 5 now (different name now then when I started but a lot of the same people still read me and know it's me, which is cool - to go years reading or being read by someone online). Congrats on being here almost 4 years! And congrats on fasting... something I don't think I could ever do!

Isn't it funny how we have mental pictures of how each of us here in DDland looks, and those mental pictures seldom line up with reality.

It's a great picture, although for unknown reasons in my mind you looked more like Sally Fields.

    Nice picture.

This is the last year of fasting for me. I think I can manage the daytime fasts, but the Yom Kippur one is just too much. And Dr. Stauber scolded me.

The sound of the Shofar stirs up something in me. I can't put it into words, but it's a good thing.

    Shalom

For some reason I would like a picture when you were my shadow fishing ,hunting, clearing wood lot ,for you were always happy be it picking flowers and full of questions of the wonders of the great outdoors. I miss those good times and the Time togather.

Dear Lady, you do realise that the first time I went to Ireland I shot 14 double rolls of film? This time I am armed with a really good digital camera, so.........expect volumes upon volumes! I promise you will be bored unto tears by the time I'm done with you!

I find it interesting that you look much like I thought you would though your hair is shorter. (Very cute I might add)

If it is true that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, then only good things can be said of you for you have very kind and merry eyes.

Those that truly seek God find Him and usually the encounter is life changing. Perhaps as God has lifted a veil you feel free to do so as well.

I look forward to hearing more as you sort it all out.

That's a nice photo and I LOVE the new haircut! One thing that nobody can tell in that photo is how petite you are.

Everybody, Yetzirah is a unique combination of tiny little woman and gargantuan determination that one just doesn't see every day. She's really a very special person.

    Hugs,
    ~Cali

Little Red you know that fasting is healthy because it gives you a chance to think of other things besides food for the tummy
it is food for the heart and mind

congratulations to your master that meditation was beneficial
this day of atonement is a good idea whether or not you are jewish

Well, what a great pic. You look just like I imagined, except for your hair, for some reason. ;-)

This is what I get for being so far behind on reading diaries this week. I'm so happy to see you finally! I knew your hair was short because you'd told me and I suspected you were just as beautiful as you are. Thank you so much!!
