Knit And Learn
Mon May 14 2007

Progress is slow on the sweater.
Sweaters are BIG projects I have discovered. I knit and knit and knit, and I still have a long ways to go on just the front. Never mind the back and two long sleeves that await their turn.

But it is simple work with nothing special to remember. Knit a row, purl a row. I'm sort of wishing I had chosen a bit of pattern to work it in like this one:

Shoulda Woulda Coulda

Isn't that nice?

Next time.

If there ever is a next time.

[album 65561 GoofyHen2.JPG]"Seems to me,
that at least four or six
rows could have been
knitted in the time
it took to whine about it.
But that's just me....."

Yes, that's an interesting pattern. But when you get done with the one you're doing, you'll be very happy with it. A plain stitch with good yarn is every bit as attractive as a patterned stitch.

    Right, Hen?

Ooooohh. I like that Sugar Cubes stitch, but the sweater you are making is lovely, too. You've got quite a good start there.

I know what you mean about big projects. They seem to take like, For-e-Ver. :o)

Nice sweater but I like the sugar cube, too!

Yes, it takes ages, but it's ever so satisfying when you finish :-)

Sweaters for Mr Kimi seem to take forever, especially the sleeves. He's 6'4". Fortunately he's quite slim, so the rows aren't very long :-)

Can't wait to see the finished product!!! Nice yarn. One of my favorite colors.

You are off to a great start; you'll be done before you know it. I like the Sugar Cubes stitch too, but think it best that you started with the basics..... no additional things to think about when you get to the arm and neck shaping.

Knitting a sweater, or a jumper as we call it, is a real commitment. I've only ever done vests and always used circular needles for those. Knitting is worth the effort but takes so long. Can't wait to see the finished product. ;-)

Ooh I do like that pattern! And I LOVE the color you chose for your sweater! (I know, I'm incredibly slow on catching up these days. I barely have any computer time at all. That should be a good thing I suppose...)
