It is pleasantly overcast today, cool with a nice breeze. An almost unheard of state of affairs in our neck of the woods at this time of the year.
I actually flipped on the gas fireplace this morning and did my yoga practice next to its warmth. Sunny sprawled out on the hearth too. She's very good at 'Down Dog' posture.
I don't think I have mentioned it here yet, but we filled out paperwork and applied to be a foster home for rescue Shelties. We have been accepted and are getting our first boarder next week. His name is Jo Jo and he will be coming all the way from the city by the bay.
Seems he is not fond of city noises poor dear.
Sunny has been to the vet to get all immunized and tested this morning. She was SO excited to see a couple of other dogs in the waiting room. But she managed to behave herself very well all things considered.
If she knew she was going to get her very own doggy friend in a week, she probably wouldn't sleep a wink till then. But canine awareness being what it is, it's all going to be a big surprise for her.
Here is a picture of the back yard as it looks today. The plants blooming in the foreground are my German Butterball potatoes from Seed Savers Exchange. They literally leapt out of the ground as soon as they were planted and haven't looked back. Soon they will fall over and get scraggly, but for today they are glorious.
Anyway, here's a peek into our very small corner of the world. In all its verdant early summer glory:
