Bejeweled Hen
Mon Jun 18 2007

A good friend of mine was wearing a bracelet the other day that I admired and asked her where she got it. She said that she had made it herself.

I decided I could copy it pretty well and set out to get a few supplies. After a day's worth of chagrin that I had just purchased a bunch of stuff that I didn't have a clue how to put together properly, I girded up my loins and dove in.

 Here is my first bracelet:

Nothing fancy, I admit. But it suits my tastes.

I have other things to do today, but I can't tear myself away from the beading board.

"Cluck! ANOTHER hobby? This is getting ridiculous! There's laundry, vacuuming, dirty dishes, weeds to pull, DUST! Work first, play later. Ah, what's the use. She's not listening..."

Knew you could do it all along. Very pretty.
I don't like really fancy either.
    I love the blue beads.

Oh Little Red...put a sock in it already!
    Hugs, Tiggs

Very nice and it suits you just fine.
We put in a couple hard mornings and brushed on first coat of waterproof sealer on deck railing I had sanded down Friday. This morning moved all the patio stuff in and I pressure washed the deck and stairs . Got the job done but by noon it was 91 and I know I will pay for it . The finished job is now clean and ready for sealing after drying for a couple days.It may take me that long to recope. Pressure washing is not a easy undertaking but One never paints or seals over dirty wood.

It's funny. I have a whole bunches of beads and supplies. I"ve been working on it for about a month. I love doing this and it's so much fun!

I think its pretty, I too prefer the under-stated bobbles over the in-your-face bling bobbles.

Very pretty; far nicer than some of the over priced stuff I saw in the stores the last time I looked.

I made a few necklaces many, many years ago, but gave it up when the necessary parts got hard to find. Now its easy to find the stuff and I haven't got the time. Sigh, there is just no winning. :)

As to the hen, I don't think she is really concerned about work; I think she is just miffed because you didn't make her a pretty bauble to wear. She really should have a string of pearls you know...... just like June Cleaver. ;)

I have a bracelet in mind to make too, though different than yours. I think the one you made is lovely and the colors mean you can wear it with almost everything. Very nice!!

The bracelet is fabulous. I love the summery colours, too. I can imagine you'll wear it a lot as it's not fussy. Great start. He he, watch out, it's addictive. ;-)
