[album 65561 Kitty2 002a.JPG]

The menagerie would like to extend their heartfelt good wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all our dear readers.

Sunny would have smiled, but she had to keep an eye on the goings on in the living room. It is her self appointed task to be a good influence on the general tone of the house today.

Frodo wanted me to tell you he's trying really really hard not to eat the kitty. He really really is.
It's his mission in life not to eat the kitty. It's on his list of 'Things Not To Do Today'. He's in a twelve step program for not eating kitties. Right now he is on step one:

"Hi, my name is Frodo, and I'm a kitty chasing fool.

I admit that I am powerless over kitty chasing and that my life has almost become unmanageable. But through diligent supervision and frequent reminders, I will conquer my kitty obsession, with the help of my friends and my Higher Power."

***

May we all find many things to be thankful for this year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Congratulations, Frodo! You have made the right choice and taken the first step to recovery by admitting that you have a problem. I'm sure Sunny will be a wonderful sponsor and help to keep you on the path to a kitty chasing-free life. You have a good foster family behind you and I'm certain that with their help you can conquer your kitty chasing problem.

I wish you and Sunny lots of scraps and gravy-topped kibble tomorrow and some nice turkey liver for the kitties. For your human companions may their holiday be filled with deliciousness and tranquility. Help them out with the tranquility part, Frodo. I know you can do it.

Just a day or two ago I read a quote about "a thankful heart," and I can't remember the rest of it. "...makes a man merry" or something like that.

I am thankful for many things; thankful that I can say that.

    Blessings

PS: Just wait till kitty gets a few weeks older!!

That's probably what I read, although maybe not. I think it was a thankful heart....does something.

That nameless kitten is soooo cute. S/he'll plant some baby claws in Frodo's nose, and maybe he'll think another thought. Or if she squalls, maybe Sunny will tell Frodo he's being bad mannered.

It'll come out right. Their hierarchy will be established. Eventually.

    Bless

    Dear Frodo,
Maggie here. Chance and I wanted to welcome you to cataholics anonymous. We, though recovering cataholics, want to tell you that we offer paws of support and to let you know that we, despite our very best efforts, still occassionally slip and chase and/or lick/taste cats. The problem we face is that our cats a) don't run and b)tend to lick us back. It's sometimes hard to be a dog *sigh*.

Please let everyone in Yetzirah's household, including that vile toad, know that we wish them, and you, a very happy Catsgiving, errrrrrrr Thanksgiving.

    Dear Mr. Frodo,

I fear it is my duty to warn you of the dangers inherent in kitty chasing. Kitties may seem small and harmless, but do not be fooled by this deception. Kitties have claws and are not afraid to use them even when playing. It is their nature much like your need to chase them is in yours.

Unlike dogs however, kitties will seldom, if ever, admit they have a problem and would never dream of entering a twelve step program. I commend your efforts to change your ways.

With all the help you have, I'm sure you will do fine, but should you have a relapse just remember the following advice from one who has been there.

    Guard your nose.

    Sincerly,
A former kitty chaser with the scar to prove it.

PS. Could one of you please give Y a hug and the following message from InStitches. She says she'll be thinking of her on Thankgiving and remembering their very pleasant visit last year. :)

    Dear Frodo,

You are a dog of honor. I can see it in your face and all of us here know you can conquer this habit. It will not be easy, just ask Leena and Tootsie, but you CAN do it. We are all behind you.

Love and support from the M&M household.
And a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
